Eating with a healthy conscience
A place like this would probably do very well in Byron Bay or perhaps even Newtown but time will tell how it'll go in Coogee. I guess located in a coastal suburb might help where sun, sea and surf goes nicely with organic produce but there's already a lot of surrounding competition from cafes that attract regular locals on the sunnier side of the street. The owner is passionate about the Farmacist Desk Reference by Don Tolman where the importance of wholefoods and healthy eating is a focus. The Orange frappe ($6) includes the pith which gives it a bitter taste. Probably a bit too healthy for my liking which makes it somewhat not particularly palatable — next time I'd have without please. The fresh Coconut juice ($4.50) is much more nicer and familiar and apparently contains lots of healthy antioxidants.

The Grilled free range chicken with caesar salad ($17) is served with crispy bacon, cos lettuce, poached organic egg and crusty croton [crouton]. A bit more dressing might have been welcomed but it's fresh and the egg cooked perfectly. I tend to like a bit of anchovy though which it's missing. Additional hand cut wedges ($3) were really good although you don't seem to get much for your money, but it's probably just enough as a small side for one. The Smoked salmon sandwich ($13) with avocado, spinach, tomato, alfalfa and dill yogurt dressing comes in a nice crusty baguette. Perhaps a little on the pricey side but its decent quality and quite tasty. I like the idea and philosophy of what they want to achieve but for some reason at the time of visiting I actually didn't feel the ambience was particularly calming and wholistic, perhaps due to the settling in period.
